Ben Carroll became Labor Premier of Victoria on 28 July 2026, and five polls from five houses have rated the new Premier since. On preferred premier, the one question every house asks the same way, Ben Carroll has trailed in every one of the four polls that asked. On the leader personally, each house asks its own question, so those readings are shown side by side rather than averaged: they run from −16 (DemosAU, 6–11 Aug 2026) to +8 (Roy Morgan, 5–7 Aug 2026), and the most recent is −4 from Resolve Strategic.
Preferred premier
This is the one question every house puts the same way, so it is the one reading on this page that can be set side by side without a caveat. Four Victorian polls have asked voters to choose between the Premier and the Opposition Leader with Ben Carroll as one of the names.

Nothing here is averaged across houses. A satisfaction question and a favourability question measure different things, and the tracker's leader ladder draws each house as its own line for the same reason.

How to read this page
The houses ask different questions. Newspoll asks whether voters are satisfied or dissatisfied, DemosAU, RedBridge and Freshwater ask whether their view is favourable or unfavourable, Roy Morgan asks whether they approve or disapprove, and Resolve publishes a net likeability figure only. Those are different things, so no figure on this page averages across houses, and the tracker's leader ladder draws each house as its own line for the same reason.
Every figure is transcribed from the pollster's own release and held in one register, which also feeds the leader ladder and preferred-premier charts on the tracker and the CSV of every wave. When a new poll rates Ben Carroll, this page changes with it.
