New polling points to a hung Australian parliament
A mega-poll of 9,343 voters projects Labor on 60–72 seats and One Nation on 53–66, against the 76 needed to govern — neither side reaching a majority in its own right. One Nation would be within arms reach of forming government with the support of the Coalition, if an election was held today. DemosAU’s Multilevel Regression and Poststratification (MRP) model, which uses polling data from May to July 2026, shows One Nation on 30% (+3% since DemosAU’s Feb/March MRP poll), Labor 26% (-3%), LNP 21% (no change), Greens 13% (+1%) and Others 10% (-1%).

The DemosAU Federal Poll conducted in July 2026 shows support for One Nation has dipped slightly as Pauline Hanson's personal brand takes a hit following her National Press Club address. The poll of 2,694 Australians shows that on a primary vote basis; One Nation leads on 29% (-1% since the June poll). Labor has also dipped -1%, while the Coalition is up 3%, along with the Greens +1%.

The poll shows a surge in support for One Nation, but the Liberal National Coalition remains in poll position. Labor leads the Liberals 56–44 on a two-party preferred basis in a state voting intention poll of 948 voters. In the poll conducted between 30 October - 4 November, respondents were asked which party they would vote for. On a primary vote basis, Labor led on 41%, followed by the Liberals on 34%, Greens 12%, any other candidate 9% and Nationals at 4%. The 8% of respondents who were undecided on voting choice were excluded from the final totals.
